Try this super easy gift wrapping hack to make your gifts extra cute. All you need is string/ribbon🎗a clothes pin 🧷 and some dried flowers 🌸.
This idea was inspired by a store I loved growing up in the valley called Handle With Care. You knew you were getting a gift from Handle With Care the second you saw the wrapping, because they had the prettiest embellishment around the box, and they always used a clothes pin. This gift wrapping hack is my version of the Handle With Care gift wrap. I’ve included the full video tutorial here, or you can read my step-by-step guide below.
Gift Wrapping Hack – step-by-step
1. Pick your box. You could use any gift box you like, wrapped or unwrapped.
2. Cut enough ribbon or string to wrap around the box twice (criss-crossed) and tie a bow.
3. Next, take your clothes pin, and pin the string where it crosses at the top of your gift box. Make sure to get two of the four sides secured inside the pin.
4. Cut your dried flowers to the desired size, or so that the stems don’t hang off the box. You can eyeball this, or wait until you have them placed in the clothes pin and trim them at the end.
5. Clip the dried flowers into the clothespin, piece by piece. You can use as many or as little as you would like. I like them to fan out so that it covers most of one of the corners of your box.
6. Tighten the bow and drape over the dried flowers.
That’s it, you’re done!
The result should look something like this, but feel free to put your own creative spin on it.
A Couple of Notes
-I recommend using lavender, because it fits nicely into the clothespin.
-If you are concerned the clothespin will not hold, you can wrap a bit of clear tape around the flower stems and pinch the pin over the tape.
-You can get even more creative than me and paint the clothes pin, or spray paint the flowers.
-I used dried flowers from Afloral, but you can use any dried flowers or greenery you can find at your local crafts store or from your garden.
Give it a try and let me know how it goes! I hope you enjoy!
