If you are like me, you struggle with finding the right things to say or do when you want to show support for a loved one going through a tough time. Sometimes words are hard, but the reality is any gesture to let someone know you are there for them when things are rough is almost always welcome. I put together some go-to sympathy gift ideas for when you want to show support when someone is going through a hard time, to tell someone you miss them, to say sorry, or just to let someone know you are thinking about them. A simple gesture goes a long way. You could really be a light for someone in a dark time, and chances are they are not expecting it.
Like Buddha says, “Give, even if you only have a little.” Here are some sympathy gift ideas.
Gift Boxes/Pre-Curated
- BoxFox makes everything super easy. You can either select from their pre-curated sets based on occasion, or build your own.
- SB Apothecary has great gift set options that come with accessories to their candles. They are my favorite candle company because literally every scent smells amazing.
Food + Drink
- Deluscious cookies are comfort-food desserts. Decadent, indulgent, comforting.
- Alma Kitchen. She makes the most beautiful cookies that look like art, but she’s been sold out for a while so let’s cross our fingers for more from her soon.
- Big Heart Tea. A cup of tea can be really soothing during a stressful time. Their tea has the cutest packaging and they have a ton of flavors.
- Sakara tea and snacks. Everything here is plant based, nourishing, with wellness-focused ingredients. Their dark chocolate granola is addicting. I love the idea of sending some healthy snacks if you are someone who forgets to eat or tends to make less healthy choices during stressful times.
Self-Care
- Osea body lotions and skincare sets
- Gaiam aromatherapy neck pillow
- Barefoot dreams socks or blankets
- Cuccio Somatology epsom salt soap and other wellness products
Flowers
- Grace Rose Farm has the MOST incredible roses.
- County Line Florals bouquets are gorgeous and more on the trendy side.
- Afloral for dried arrangements. I love these. You can also purchase a vase from them.
- Venus Et Fleur for preserved roses. Although I wouldn’t give these to someone who is sensitive to certain smells. These smell amazing, but the scent is stronger than your average rose.
Hope this gave you some useful sympathy gift ideas and inspiration. Let me know if you tried gifting any of these and how it went!
Happy gifting!
